Automatic Borrower Type Update

* UPDATE 6/2/2011 – We have temporarily disabled this feature due to several unforseen workflow issues. We will publish a new post when/if these issues get resolved. Please continue to manually update patron types as you encounter them *

In the past, when a patron’s age determined that they be changed to a new borrower type, this change would have to be done manually.

(e.g. – a MC patron (normally age 12 to 14) turns 15 and thus should be changed to a YA patron)

Now this change will happen automatically.  When a status change takes place, a patron’s record will display a status message concerning the change.

If the patron is now an Adult (AD), it is important that the responsible party be removed and we get a updated record including signature and state photo ID.  Note, if there are fines on the record, the responsibility lies with the responsible party.   Any amount under $10 may be waived.  Anything in excess of $10 should be referred to Zoe at County to handle collection.

If you have any questions, please call Zoe at the County Library at 984-8200.
